About me

My brief profile is as following:  I am a Solicitor–Advocate of the Supreme Court (England and Wales), with a right of audience in Higher Courts (All Proceedings), a specialist in Immigration Law and have dealt with Criminal cases at trial and appeal level.  I passed MA English Literature from Punjab University after passing BA from Govt. College Lahore in 1990. Subsequently I came to UK and passed CPE(Post Graduate Certificate in law) LPC (Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice) and then LLM(Master of Laws ) from Huddersfield University from 1994-2000. I also passed Diploma In immigration Law in the year 2001. I am a member of Law Society’s Immigration Panel, and was awarded ‘Young Human Rights Lawyer ‘(Peter Duffy)’ Award of the year 2000, for my excellent casework representations for Asian females who are victim of domestic violence. I also was named and awarded by Young Pro Bono Group the ‘Young Pro Bono Solicitor Award 2001’. In 2002 I was short listed for  ‘Most Significant contribution to the legal profession in 2002/3’ award. The Gazette Centenary Awards which started in 1903 are given every ten years to mark the contribution of professionals in legal profession. In year 2002/3 apart from individual case work there are 3 major cases which were not only positive in results but also brought changes on policy and law. These changes will bring healthy effects in legal profession. I sit on ‘Foreign and Commonwealth Office Pro Bono Lawyer’s panel’ and am also a member of ‘Law Society’s Immigration law Committee.’                    I have advised and assisted Pakistan Press Club, Manchester for last 5 years and am an executive member of Pakistan Welfare Association. I also am a legal advisor and provide free advice to  ‘British Ethnic health awareness foundation’, which advise free advice and advocacy on medical problems to Pakistani community. I am also President of the Association of Pakistani Lawyers and am working closely with Bar Council and Law Society to enhance the bilateral co-operation and recognition of Pakistani Lawyers in UK. I set up my own chamber in the year 2003 after working 3 years for a charity (Oldham CAB) where my work involved 90% of clients for advice, assistance and representations in all courts in Immigration area of law & Human Rights.   I specialize in the following:
