Using the leftovers

I have recently found an old addiction returning.....visiting the Colchester Cattle Market on a saturday morning.  So far i have bought a bike and a sewing box.

My purchase this week for 13.80GBP was a oak stool.  With the left overs from the man bag, purchased from here - i have had my first attempt at up holstering...

More pics here.

If you find this funny, you spend too much time on the web

I laughed lots!

Bassment

February 02, 2002 was the last time i found myself in the Bassment.

Rich and Marianne were DINKY.
I had hair.
Karen and Lee were dating.
I was seing Dog Walking Lady.
Enrique Iglessias 'Hero' was number 1.

So much has changed since then.....except the Bassment!!!  A great night dancing like fools!

Roller Disco, November 30, 2007

Rain and wind were the main theme of the early part of the night.....this then progressed into 'walking in the rain and wind' and then finally 'queing in the wind and rain'.

Canvas was the location for the celebration of Nancy's birthday.  We made it into the 'club'....girls applied lisptick, drank shots and we all choked at the price of drinks (am i getting old??  I believe most people would take breath at 4GBP for a small (plastic) bottle of stella).

Initial reactions were 'tiny'.....then, the two other rooms were pointed out to me.  Room one was kinda disco, room two was RnB and room three was D&B/Dance.  Not through musical choice, more for the speed of the skating i spent most of the time in room three.

Fashion was mainly made up of leg warmers, larges glasses and short skirts! Also on display were afros, sweat bands and even Ghostbsters!

Finally, room three was cleared and gave way to a few tunes worth of speed skating.  It was more like 'how fast can you skate in a continous circle'....there were no straights....too small!!  However, as one of the few white blokes taking part, i took the 20 year old 'age hardened' slipperly wheels to their limit.

A great night - more photos here and movies here (and if you're a friend of Mia, here

.....a far cry from the last time i skated:

Going back even further....

....earlier this month it was 1992....now, i am going back to 1990 when roller world was the place to be.

The skates are serviced, cleaned and ready to go for a roller disco on Friday!!
