Five Months and Flying
It seems so cliche' to say that time is flying, but that is really how it feels. In just a few days, our Oliver will be five months...one month short from a half a year old...WOW. This month has been a big one, full of learning and of course, growing. Oliver is now 19lbs, 8 oz. and quickly closing in on his cousin Henry in terms of size. Strangers we meet are constantly suprised to find out that our "little" one is only nearing his fifth month. The average guess puts Oliver at 8 or 9 months of age. More and more of his sweet personality emerge daily. He loves to "talk" and is now reaching for toys. He likes exploring the world with his mouth...tonight he was grabbing leaves left and right when we were taking his pictures outside. Not surprisingly, he has found the world of solid foods quite yummy...he gobbles up rice cereal, sweet potato and squash puree, and most recently baby oatmeal. He is fair in making sure that for every bite his mouth gets, his shirt and pants receive the same portion :-). Another discovery this month....his feet! Oliver is grabbing onto his toes and just last night actually got them to his mouth after several minutes of concentration. My favorite part of the day is coming home to him and his big uninhibited grin. We find ourselves wishing that our days with him would be longer, but with all these new things, Oliver surrenders to sleep around seven thirty every evening.
