The whole body smile

Greeting Oliver at the beginning of the day is a treat. Gone are the days of him crying to beckon us once he has woken. His tune has changed to coos and giggles. Often dad is sleeping when Oliver wakes up and I get to be the lucky one who greets him first thing in the morning. Weeks ago, he started smiling when our eyes met, but this week he's combined so many of the new things he has learned to do into one very special action...what I like to call the "whole body smile." It involves a toothless mouth with a wide open grin, sparkling eyes, arms wide out, an arching back and legs a kickin! I did my best to capture it with this video.
