Match Report - 8th March
Finlay 5 - 0 Chubb
We probably had our worst game of the season against Finlay on Saturday, and is it any surprise given this depressing weather that we're having??!
The wind was blowingin our faces in the 1st half, and the rain didn't help - it meant that on fresh legs, Finlay A had the wiond behind them, AND the downhill aspect of the pitch in their favour, so by the end of the first half, they were 4-0 up.
In Chubb's usual gutsy fashion, they fought to the limit of their abilities and tried their best, and the 2nd half wewnt much better with only 1 goal getting past Tom - who did a sterling job in goal once again. Unfortunately, our players were so cold and tired by the end of the first half, that it was hard for them to take full advantage of nature by the 2nd.
Man of the Match this week was Seb who played a fantastic game - being everywhere on the pitch and playing superbly with some wonderful defensive moves. He did move out of position a few times but only to the benefit of the team to intercept Finlay's advance. Well done Seb - if Toby ever returns the Man of the Match trophy, I'll be able to give the silverware along with the praise! (Whenever you're ready Toby! :-))
Ethan played his second game for the team and really played very well again. Well done Ethan, welcome to Chubb.
Our pitch is particularly bad and I will commit to trying to find a better location for next year, to make the next Manager's role a little easier (whomever that may be), as having to play on an obstacle course never helps!
