mashup* Event on the 19th June will be themed "on Location"; ie: the value of "where one is". We are thrilled that Teleatlas are sponsoring this event.

Within this theme of location we will be exploring where and what the value of location is.

We will cover the value of

  • maps;
  • direction;
  • find;
  • discovery;
  • direction;
  • detection;
  • presence, and;
  • mashup services for both web and mobile.

We will be given great insights from our expert speakers and panel including Jack Reinelt MD EMEA and COO of Teleatlas

Jack will be joined by a great panel including Ed Parsons from Google, Ed Freyfogle from Nestoria and Philip Sheldrake of OnOneMap

We will also have some live demos from....

The aim of widr is to map every computer in the world and in doing so create a location enabled internet. We have some software and a Javascript API which developers can use to make their website location aware. Come and visit our demo to see how we collect our data, how you can add location to your website and some examples of location based internet applications.

Nestoria the UK property search engine

John Robinson SMS Card with inproperty, sales tool for Property Developers and Estate Agents.

As usual we’ve already got significant numbers of pre-registrations from those who gained value from previous events. We have over 220 people at the last event so expect a great event again. The venue is to be confirmed but will be central/ west London and as usual registration will start from 18.00.

As the theme is "on Location" we welcome hearing from startups working in this sector who would like to demo at a special 'mashup* Demo' session the hour before the formal event. Contact tony at mashupevent dot com

Can I just congratulate the organisers, speakers, the panel of last night for making what was a most enjoyable yet business focused evening. Do let me know of all future events you will be running! Keep up the good work. Ollie

I have recently represented BT on an EU 6th Framework project GIGA to develop and demonstrate the capability to achieve sub-Centimetre accuracy by delivering corrections to GPS and GNSS Data through terrestrial Wireless networks. The prime motivator was to overcome "Urban Canyon" problems with Satellite services and poor GPRS availability (primarily for professional surveyors but with many other applications). For publicly available information see http://www.giga-energy.info/ This project closes in July and we are looking for commercial partners.
