Les Blogs

Les Blogs

Midentity is attending Les Blogs next week in Paris. etribes - a company that I co-founded a few years ago is launching their etribes Life service on the Tuesday evening. With a free bar I expect they'll have a few people there.

At Les Blogs I'll be seeking to understand just how important PDID is to the emerging 'personal publishing' sector and to understand their challenges in adopting 'it'.

Identity isn't something talked about a lot at 'blogging' conferences - I think that is starting to change as 'blogging' providers come to understand the benefits of using PDID to 'PDID enable' their services.

European Directory Marketplace Conference

I've just been confirmed as a speaker and Executive Panel member for the European Directory Marketplace Conference which will be held in Rome, Italy on the 6th/7th Feb. which is *just* before mashup* (8th Feb).

I'm excited:

a) because I think the DQ market is set for radical change during the next few years and Midentity's products and services are designed to enable forward looking DQ providers to benefit from these changes.

I'm looking forward to meeting and speaking with the European and US leaders in the space to understand what they see as their primary challenges and how we can work together to help them address them.

b) because I've never been to Rome and my wife loves the city

PDID Association - follow up

pdid2

We had the 1st follow up meeting (of the PDIDA) after the 1st Workshop last week.

A few things were agreed: - the 'We' below is refers to the PDIDA and not me or Midentity...

1) David Goodman - is the Chairman of the Association

2) We are holding a 2nd Workshop on the 23rd March - venue/speakers etc. TBC

3) We are producing a draft Personal Digital Identity Charter

4) We will be represented at the EEMA IDcard summit in Brussels

5) We will encourage individuals and organisations to join the PDID Association

2006 is going to be busy...

Vint Cerf on mashup*

Internet pioneer Vint Cerf, Google's chief Internet evangelist was recently interviewed - read this on why he thinks mashup*s are a good thing.

Clearly I do to and will be interested to see how the emerging Midentity infrastructure/platform based initially on the Midentity Deskbar/Plugins can be leveraged by 3rd party organisations/individuals to create new services based on an individuals personal digital identity.

mashup*

Midentity is sponsoring the mashup* Event in London next year. Will be a great opportunity for those in the converging mobile/Internet/VOIP/PC and information/content sectors to get together.

Midentity will be presenting a number of our corporate & consumer services and will be taking part in the ongoing conversation around the emerging personal digital identity sector.

PDID Association

I've just returned from the PDID Association Workshop which was held in London last week. It was a very successful event and I'm looking forward to the next workshop that will be held in March 2006 in London.

I learnt a lot and met a lot of smart people who are working in PDID in one guise or another.

These include:

Graham Sadd of PAOGA

Iain Henderson of Information Answers and The Customers Voice

PDID Association Workshop

I'm at the PDID Association Workshop. It's great to see so many people here and I'm particulary happy as I am on the executive (founding) committee of the Association. Anyway as I'm here I better network. More later...

Making Mydentity

making

I gave a presentation today at the Personal Digital Identity Association (www.pdid.org) Workshop (see next posting) held at the fantastic 'The Adam Club' in London. During my presentation (and indeed within it) I *promised* to start my blog (again... see this). So thanks to etribes Life here it is. I'm going to use this blog to talk about my experiences and thoughts in relation to the ongoing personal digital identity conversation(s).
