Made Tynda, buying supplies and heading out later today. Weather still hot and dry. Roads are unsealed, but fast - 40 mph!

Made it to Chita.......currently trying to find some cash and register our Visas (again)!!!

The next few days involve riding to Tynda.....the map shows no road, but there is a steady stream of traffic coming the other way, so something must exist!!

Cant hang about in internet cafes......still 4000km to do in 26 days!!!!

Rode 300miles towards Chita......another hot day, causing rain clouds to gather in the afternoon. Beautiful country side....a cross between Mongolia desert and Siberian forrest!!!

Camped in the woods.....and started the applying the mosquito sprays!!!!

Left Mongolia and made it into Russia....the border crossing was quick...3 hours in total!!!!

VERY hot in Russia.....Rode to Ulan Ude and found a hotel to register our visa....then decided to stay as the sky was turning black!!

The bike once again was not upright...the center stand sank into the hot tarmac, fell over (taking Johns bike with it) and caused the front end to now be even less attached that it all ready was!!!

John is in posession of his visa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Headed out of Ulaanbaatar and camped 50km from the Russian border.

The visa only last till july 22....that does not give us long to get to Magadan...hence the short post on the website!!!

Hopefully this is the last full day here in Ulaanbaatar (UB).

PLAN (obvisouly...there could still be another problem with the embassy!!!) is to kit up tonight and then pick up Johns Russian Visa at 1200 tomorrow, then head north to Russia. Tomorrow night we will camp near the border and then make it into Russia Friday morning.

It is 5000km to Magadan - the visa John is (hopefully) getting is only 30 days and the flight ot Anchorage leaves on a Friday. So, we are currently hoping to catch the July 21 flight to Alaska.

My previous experience of Russia is that their internet cafes are rubbish....and where we are going is pretty barren....so dont expect too many updates!!
