Fixture Changes
Hi All
Please see below important fixture changes. These are the Semi-Final and Final matches - obviously we need to get through one in order to be in the other!
THESE ARE NEW DATES:
12th April - Semi-Final at Home against Finlay A
19th April - FINAL - Location to be decided.
These are obviously 2 very important matches for us - the first one being against our rivals who are fully expecting to be able to march into the final - let's stop them!
I need your confirmation of being able to play please - please send this to my email address which you should all have by now.
Thank you in advance.

New Manager for 2008-09
Hello All
Whilst I am very happy to continue carrying the flag for Chubb, I also recognise that there are people out there who would be much better at managing the team than I - hey, just knowing the rules would be a plus!
Therefore, I will be opening up the position for the next season, by the close of this one.
There is no need to take any action right now, but I will be asking those who would be interested in going forward for the post to let me know soon - so just give it some thought as to whether you'd be interested, and if you'd like more information on what's required, the website, etc. in order to help you make that decision, then feel free to ask.
Once all the names are in, it will be put out to vote (including the players) and the person with the most votes will take over the website and the management of the team for next year.
The winner will be annouced at our club 'gathering' that I will arrange after the season end - where rewards and such will be awarded to the movers and shakers of the year - date to be confirmed.
So for now, just give it some thought and let meknow if you have any queries.

Semi-Finals!
We Made it!!!
Very well done Chubb! We made it to the Semi-Finals!
Our Semi will be played against Finlay A (I'm sure this is because they think we will be aeasier to beat than Otley!), and so we will need full team compliment please.
When: 5th April 2008
Where: Will Confirm
Time: Will confirm
I will organise some practice matches between now and then - even if just amongst the few of us so as to get our positioning right.
Mums and Dad's, please let your son know that he's done extremely well in contributing to the team so far this year - we need to close out the year at least in the final, but Finlay A are going to be a tough opponent. We've beaten them before, and can do it again, but not without yours and their support. Thanks to everyone, and let's try and beat them this time!

Match Report - 8th March
Finlay 5 - 0 Chubb
We probably had our worst game of the season against Finlay on Saturday, and is it any surprise given this depressing weather that we're having??!
The wind was blowingin our faces in the 1st half, and the rain didn't help - it meant that on fresh legs, Finlay A had the wiond behind them, AND the downhill aspect of the pitch in their favour, so by the end of the first half, they were 4-0 up.
In Chubb's usual gutsy fashion, they fought to the limit of their abilities and tried their best, and the 2nd half wewnt much better with only 1 goal getting past Tom - who did a sterling job in goal once again. Unfortunately, our players were so cold and tired by the end of the first half, that it was hard for them to take full advantage of nature by the 2nd.
Man of the Match this week was Seb who played a fantastic game - being everywhere on the pitch and playing superbly with some wonderful defensive moves. He did move out of position a few times but only to the benefit of the team to intercept Finlay's advance. Well done Seb - if Toby ever returns the Man of the Match trophy, I'll be able to give the silverware along with the praise! (Whenever you're ready Toby! :-))
Ethan played his second game for the team and really played very well again. Well done Ethan, welcome to Chubb.
Our pitch is particularly bad and I will commit to trying to find a better location for next year, to make the next Manager's role a little easier (whomever that may be), as having to play on an obstacle course never helps!
More news on what's happening next in following entries. Watch this space!

Friendly - Against Finlay - Saturday 29th Feb
All
We have a friendly this coming Saturday at HOME against Finlay. Kick-off at 1030.
I think it would be a good opportunity to have a practice, and swap players around so people can get some space in other parts of the field.
Therefore, please come along for 1020 Saturday morning.
See you there.

Match Notice - 23rd February
Hello All
The most important match of the year! - this coming Saturday.
Where: Otley's ground (next to Stephen Smiths Garden Centre)
Against: Otley
When: 9am kick off
All needed to be present please. If lifts or sleepovers (due to parents being away) are required, please let me know and I will arrange. This match is very important for our position in the league - we've only lost 1 match so far this season and a win against Otley will place us beautifully for the coming games.
Look forward to seeing you in Otley at 0850, Saturday morning!
