Internet Tails - Part 18 - “BIRD FOOD”

Now what I’m about to tell you has to stay between you and I.  Coz if Grumpy finds out then I’ll be in trouble.

I may have mentioned before that Grumpy will come home lunchtime, plays with me & shares his pasty with me which I’ve got kinda used to now.

However, what I’ve also found out is that he also feeds the birds!!! HOW RUDE!

So now what I do is I make sure them pesky birds don’t get anything!! So when Grumpy comes back I’ll nip out the door and while he’s heating up his pasty I go and find those lovely crusts and………yep you’ve guessed it I eat ‘em all up….then I’ll come back in and help him eat his pasty!!!

The beauty of all this is that he has, as far as I’m aware, NO IDEA that’s its little ole me that eats up all the crusts! he he he! He probably thinks that we have VERY hungry birds round here!! I ain’t gunna tell him.

Mum reckons I’ve turned into a bit of a piggy since we’ve moved here, but hey what’s a dog supposed to do when there’s food everywhere to help yourself to & why should I let birds eat perfectly good bread??

Internet Tails - Part 17 - "CHRISTMAS TIME 2007"

Well Christmas has now come and gone and I have to say that Santa Paws did not let me down again this year….. I must remember to write to him every year!

Ok, now what did I ask for and what did I get???

1st on my list was a nice long walk with Mum & Aunty Pip…. I didn’t quite get that Christmas morning, I did have a walk in the morning with Aunty Pip and another in the afternoon, but these weren’t what I would call a long walk.  My morning walk was with the ball and the afternoon was a shortish walk up Hollerday Hill.  However, the following day I went for a nice long walk with Mum & Uncle Andrew up over Hollerday Hill - boy it was fab.  I grabbed a stick when we 1st went through the gate and carried it around for the whole walk!  We went a different way that usual, which meant a longer walk - certainly not complaining!  After the walk they went into a café for a coffee whilst I waited outside.  I did wonder if they had abandoned me, but they hadn’t.

I had another massive walk on Sunday too, this time they took me right up over South Cliff along towards where Nanny works and then back.  It was fab, a load of new smells and more sticks to find and of course, flip!  I am now shattered, so much so that I really couldn’t handle going out again with Grumpy & Aunty Pip this afternoon, I just stayed home with Mum & Nanny curled up watching the tele.

2nd on my list was Christmas Dinner with the family, with all the trimmings…. Oh yes I had that! Turkey & Ham, with Roast Spuds & Parsnips, Brussels and chestnuts plus other veg and gravy - yum yum the best dinner of the year!

3rd on my list was some lovely doggy treats,… I got them, oh yes, Nanny & Grumpy brought me some as did Granny Bess, I think I’ll be OK for treats til Easter!!! I also had a couple of toys, Granny Bess brought me a Reindeer which makes a funny noise,  Mum brought me a snowball man which squeaks, and Nanny & Grumpy brought me some leg warmers!! yep did OK with the ole treats and toys again this year.

4th on the list was a swim in a nice clear stream…. Yep managed that too! The day after Christmas and after the morning walk I had about 2 hours where I could dive in and out of the stream.  Mum & Uncle Andrew took some bits up to that nice place on the moors and let me play around while we were all up there.  Boy did I have fun.  I checked on them a couple of times, just to make sure they hadn’t left without me, they hadn’t of course.  It was damn chilly, but that didn’t stop me.  So I had me swim and a stick flip at the same time - oh I do like it up there, pure Jakey heaven!!

Finally on my list to Santa Paws was a new name tag……Yep, you’ve guessed it, got that too.  Mum got me that and she did give it to me just before Christmas.  I suppose she wanted to make sure she didn’t lose me either!!  it’s a round silver one with my name and number on plus telling everyone that “I’m Chipped” chipped with what, dunno!

So there you have it, all the wishes on my list well and truly delivered - THANK YOU SANTA PAWS! I do truly feel spoilt.

Its now almost the new year.  Mum asked me what my resolutions will be, well I have no idea to be honest.  I know she has written some, whether she will manage to fulfil them I’m really not sure.  I just hope that we both have a good year, plenty of walks, swims and stick flipping will do me just fine!

So all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Jake xxx

Internet Tails - Part 16 - "DEAR SANTA PAWS"

Mum informs me that its time to think about Christmas and that I need to write my letter to Santa Paws so that he knows what to bring me…..

To be honest I have so many toys and clothes that I have found it really hard this year to come up with some ideas on what to ask for.  I mean I’m a lucky chap really, I generally get what I need and what I don’t need. YES, YES I know I’m spoilt!!! OK, here goes….

Dear Santa Paws…. What I would really like this year is……

1.         A nice long walk with my Mum & Aunty Pip on Christmas morning.

2.         Christmas Dinner with the family, with all the trimmings of course

3.         Some lovely doggy treats, my favourite has to be “Whirlers”

4.         A swim in a nice clear stream or river (yes I am aware it’ll be cold!!)

5.         A new name tag with my new address details on, so I can be taken home if I  get lost.

That’s all I can think of this year Santa.  I hope that I will also get another card from you, I have kept my last card from you that you sent me straight from your post office in Lapland.  Mum said I must be a very special doggy to have had Santa Paws write to me personally, so thank you very much. I promise to leave out my stocking and some treats for you and Rudolf, plus I promise I’ll be a good boy…..

Lots of Love  Jake x

I hope Mum will post this off to Santa Paws for me.  I’ve had some great Christmases and I am looking forward to this year too, I’ll no doubt be able to don my reindeer outfit on Christmas Eve and my Santa Suit on Christmas day….I do like dressing up, plus I suppose I’ll have to get my bowtie ready for the New Year too. I wonder if Mum has written her letter yet???

What will she ask for, hope he tells me so I can pinch one idea to get her myself!

Well not long to go apparently, fingers crossed he gets my letter on time!

Internet Tails - Part 15 - “WE‘VE MOVED!”

To be honest I was kinda wondering when we would be moving to live with Nanny & Grumpy. Over the past couple of months we’ve visited a fair bit, each time the car being loaded with boxes and bags. However, I thought that I may have moved here on my own!!! Mum came up with me then left me with Nanny & Grumpy for a few days, visited one night and then went again!!!!

I was starting to worry that she had given me away! I was wrong though. Today Mum came back and sat down with me and said “so Jake what do you reckon? This is now our new home, do you think you can be happy here?” IS SHE CRAZY??!! Of course I will be.

Whilst Mum was not here, Nanny was taking me out every morning & she lets me have a good run with my ball - LUVERLY! I hope Mum will continue that trend… Every lunchtime Grumpy comes home, I help him eat his lunch then he plays with me in the garden for a while. In the evening we go and get Aunty Pip, I help them eat their dinner and supper then I go back over to drop Aunty Pip home again and get to say hello to Granny Bess, of course I get a treat there too!!

Mum said that I’m becoming a pig??!! I checked my tail, its certainly not gone curly, mind I think she meant I’d start getting fat ….he.he.he! Mum will have to keep running me with my ball that’ll keep the weight off!!

So there you go, the move by all accounts is done now….quite an easy process from what I could see….I didn’t even have to lift a box! Mind Mum did look shattered when she arrived here today, so maybe she found it more exhausting. Whatever happens now though, I’m looking forward to spending time here with the family…Yep Mum I think we’ll be Ok!

Internet Tails - Part 11 - 'OUR SUMMER HOLIDAY'

The title of this latest story of mine is quite laughable really as since Mum & I left home it has done nothing but rain! So really not the best of doggy holidays for either of us, both of us getting soaking wet each time we leave the house!

Our holiday starts in June, Mum gets home from work and packs her suitcase…now I’m starting to worry. I hate that damn thing, usually when she gets the big one out she’s going to disappear for a few days! However, this time I am pleasantly surprised when I see her packing a few bits for me too!!! YAY we’re off on holiday, I wonder where we’re going!

Within an hour we’re all packed up in the car and on the road. I’m just sooooooo excited, I try and tell her how much but all she says back is “Jake shut up and lie down” I try and try and try….in the end she tells me she’s had enough of my whinging and moaning - my my she’s in a bad mood!….all I wanted to ask her was where are we going!

The trip was dreadful, Mum shouting at me to be quiet the rain was beating down on the roof of the car, sounding like someone was shooting it and it seemed to take a lifetime to get where we were going, which I finally found out was……NANNY’S! oh I was so pleased to arrive and get in the house…..I looked around for any sign of Nanny or Grumpy….NOWHERE! We’d arrived to an empty house!

My disappointment was short lived though as Mum took me down the road with her where I went into see Grumpy at work, we then took a trip around the village with him, before going back to the house to chill out a bit. Not long after we got back, in walks Grumpy followed soon after by Nanny! I was really pleased to see them as I know they’ll play with me and I get to cuddle up with Grumpy on the sofa.

That 1st night went quickly, Mum took me and Aunty Pip up Hollerday Hill - boy was she in a hurry, raced up the path to the top, it must have almost killed her as she’s not the fittest person in the world!! I had a good ole play up there before coming back to settle in for the night. Day One over and I’m exhausted!

Day two dawns and up we get and out for a brief trot around the block, rather disappointing, but as it was raining I assumed that Mum was just giving me a wee and woo break, waiting on better weather later in the day for a full on Jakey walk…

NOPE! Mum, Nanny & Grumpy went out….WITHOUT ME! “We won’t be long” they say - UTTER RUBBISH! They were gone for hours. I know this coz I started to count the number of times the clock on their wall made a noise…it certainly was a long time! All I could do was curl up by the door and wait for their return.

When they finally showed their faces, I greeted them with a wag and a smile, as I always do and of course Mum apologised for being so long, she said ‘you know what Nanny’s like when she goes shopping!! ‘

Mum & I then just took a short walk around the block before she went out again. This time she left me in with Nanny & Grumpy. I didn’t mind this as I at least had their company & food of course!!!

Day Three and boy it is chucking it down today! But I did get a decent walk this morning. Mum took me and Aunty Pip around the Valley. I found a stick the minute we arrived at the gate and off I went heading into the undergrowth tossing my stick high in the air and catching it! WOW such fun!

Lunchtime came and I had Nannies roast dinner, boy its ‘amsome! Loverly roast beef and all the trimmings……ohh heaven!

Today went really quick - AGAIN! In fact the whole week seems to be going fast.

Day four came and again today Mum left me for a few hours whilst she went to work for a few hours…..MUM, your on holiday I told her, but she refused to listen and off she went. When she arrived back though she took me and Aunty Pip on a nice walk again, before settling in for the evening in front of the tele…

Along came Day five, today we headed into Minehead. Mum took me in to see Grandad Butcher for a while, then we went for a nice long walk over the hill. I’ve always wondered what it was like up there as I see it every time we go there….Today, I found out! I was surprised at the hill Mum made us both walk up - but we did!

I did laugh at Mum on our way back to the car as she seemed to have lost it. She kept saying “we’ll just try the next bend Jake - it has to be around ‘ere somewhere!!” How on earth can you lose a car??! Thankfully she did find it! We then popped in to have a drink with one of Mums friends - I of course found a toy the minute I arrived and just had to destroy it!

Mum then took me to see Uncle Ross and Aunty Karen, we had a little tea with them, plus of course a play in their back garden. The rest of the evening I spent just chillin’ out at Mum's friends.

So, five days down….no idea when we’ll be heading back home. So far its been fab, I’ve met new people, seen all my family and had some new and different places to sniff out…..

Day Six and today I’m not so happy, I’m scratching more and more and feeling really uncomfortable. Mum took me to see the doggie doctor. It wasn’t my own doctor, of course that would have mean’t going all the way back home. This guy did the same as my other doctor did, checked me over - stuck his finger up me bum, gave me a jab in the neck and sent me on the way…..boy those doctors really are odd.

After the Doggie Doctor visit, Mum made it up to me by taking me on a nice walk out to meet Nanny from work - that took my mind off the itching as I could chase the Goats! Come the evening I did feel a little better. Still very itchy but certainly it wasn’t as bad!

Day Seven today we dropped Nanny to work in the morning, Mum then stopped in the Valley for me to have a play with my ball, later we went for a drive around the local area. Mum said it was a longer route to fetch Nanny from work! It did take quite a while, we stopped at a place overlooking the sea. Here I was allowed out of the car to have a good sniff around and play with a stick that I’d found - Great fun!

After we picked Nanny up from work we walked down to Lynmouth. Mum said they were going to do the touristy bit! Coffee on the front, a walk around the green, a nose in the shops (shopping! YUK boring!) before finally a train ride back to the top of the hill and home.

Day Eight and again today I had to make do with a short trip around the block. The rest of the day I spent just lying around. Grumpy came home lunchtime to see me for a while. The day did go quick and looking at the weather outside - I was the one that had the better end of the stick!

Mum & Nanny arrived home late afternoon, Mum then took me for a nice walk around the block, before heading out again for the evening. Nanny & Grumpy stayed in with me though.

Day Nine - WOW I’m starting to love my holiday, more and more…Today Nanny took me around the block in the morning - for me business! Then Mum took me on a drive out in the car. We drove right up to the moorland. When we stopped it was chucking down with rain! But out we got anyway to get soaked through! Playing ball in the rain IS fun, but rather uncomfy when you have to get back in the car. The rest of the day was up and down really, but we did go out in the evening for a drive which was rather nice.

We then come to Day Ten, Mum informs me that tomorrow we are going back home! OHHHH! Just as I was starting to really enjoy myself I have a long ole journey to look forward to! She took me and Aunty Pip around the Valley again, it was a little better weather today too, so it was rather pleasant. When we got back she started to pack up our suitcase….Never mind she assures me that we’ll be back soon and hopefully next time the weather will be a lot better and we may just make it to Tar Steps - not that I know where it is, but she says that I’ll love it!

So there we have it - our summer holiday over and done with. I’ve really enjoyed it. Mum seems a lot more relaxed too, so I think she’s kinda enjoyed it despite the weather.

Internet Tails - Part 10 - 'NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR"

It has come to my attention that some people don’t believe that I’m actually the author of “Internet Tails”.

So for those misbelievers out there, I am happy to allow access to some very private photographs of me working hard to produce my stories.

I'm aware that my grammar and spelling is not the best. However, would like to point out that I have never had any training…… Plus I’M A DOG!!!! Although I’m sure that by seeing these photos you’ll figure that out for yourself!

Yes, I do find it difficult using the laptop. My paws, thankfully are reasonably small. I do ask my Mum to have a read through to ensure that humans will understand my writings, but please don’t credit her with my amazing work……ITS ALL ME!!!!

Ok, that’s it. I have more inspiration to find and more stories to write, so misbelievers I hope that I have now satisfied your curiosity.

Internet Tails - Part 9 - 'FILM REVIEWS'

Now I know your confused already. You’re thinking that us dogs don’t watch films so how can he do a film review…..WRONG! I watch many films, in fact there is nothing better than snuggling up on the sofa with Mum or Dad and watching a good ole film!

Mum is best to watch them with as we share a similar taste in films. We both like watching those loveable animal films, which bring a tear to your eye, or just make you wanna go ahhhh…

Anyway, I wanted to give you a review on some of my favourite films. So here goes….

If you want a real weepy than My Dog Skip is the one. This is one of Mum & I’s favourite films all about a boys love for his dog and their life together. Its real sad at the end and Mum always ends up in tears. Me, I fetch the tissues!!!

K9 is the one if you want a bit of action. This is one of Dad’s favourites and the dog in it is a bit of a stud, like me. He’s a police dog with a bit of a rouge of a handler. Definitely has some funny bits!

If you want to see a dog that has a little of the Jake about him, then watch Bingo. Here you see Bingo trying to catch up with his owners who have moved across America without him! He gets into all sorts of situations and you just pray that he’ll find his family at the end of it.

Lassie is a similar story line to Bingo, but she’s a bit … ‘woof‘! Oh yes this is my ‘eye candy’ film, she’s a dish!!!

The Shaggy Dog is all about a human that turns into a shaggy dog - now like that would ever happen! But it is a bit of a giggle seeing him getting into trouble and trying to save the day. Just ensure that you don’t diss us dogs as this film will prove that you really don’t know what will happen!

If you do like the action films, then Snow Dogs is a fab film. Here you see how someone from Miami can earn their inheritance by attempting a Artic Sledge challenge. Full of ups and downs a great film to watch in the winter, when you can feel good about being in front of a blazing fire!!

Of course you also have the Disney classics which feature us fantastic doggies….

101 Dalmatians about that cruel woman wanting to make some beautiful Dalmatian pups into coats! Yikes!

Lady & the Tramp, Tramp is definitely my hero! I wish I could pull a lady like lady!!!

Then there’s The Fox & the Hound, a great story about a dog and a fox that are friends from babies, but life takes its toll on their friendship as they grow older and find that their friendship is put under all sorts of pressure.

So there you go. I hope you’ll find a film that suits your tastes. I’ve enjoyed watching all of the films above and I hope that Hollywood will continue to make films that appeal to the likes of me……

Internet Tails - Part 8 - 'SYMPATHY PLEASE!'

Ohhh yeeeesssss! I think I have it….. Yes YES….that’s better

“Jake Stop it!”

Oh boy I was just managing to stop that damn itch!

That’s how life has been over the last week. I’ve been itching so badly! The only way I have found to ease the pain is to have a good scratch and a nibble. However, I now have found the downside of my own pain relief…..I have a bald patch and big red patches all over my back and down near my bits!

I don’t know how it started, but it has been hell over these last few days. Mum thought I had fleas. But, she checked me over, couldn’t find anything. She was a little confused as she does treat me all the time for fleas to make sure that I don’t get them.

You see, when they 1st adopted me I had alopecia which was caused by a flea infestation, so now I get my ‘Frontline’ every 2 months without fail! She gave me an early dose of it…NOPE, that didn’t work. She put me in a t-shirt to stop me scratching…ummm….NO, that didn’t help! So in the end I was told I needed to see the doggie doctor! Ahhhhhhhhhh!

Today Dad took me to see the doggie doctor. When I got in there I was offered a treat. I declined as I don’t accept treats from strangers, and to be honest I really wasn’t in the mood for eating….I just wanted the itching to stop!

The doctor checked me over, had a good look at my injuries and then had the nerve to stick his finger up my BUM! I mean, how on earth did he think that would help? Apart from taking my mind off the itching coz my bum was now sore I really have no idea!

Anyway, after the shock of all that, he decided to stick 2 pins in my neck then put a lampshade on my head, telling Dad that I had an infection….Genius!

Now tell me, have you every tried to walk around with a plastic lampshade on your head?!!! Its not easy. I must have bumped into everything on my way to and from the car! I couldn’t even take a nap in comfort, PLUS how stupid do you think I looked???!!! Not exactly a fashion accessory I can tell you!

So, that’s it - the itching…..still there…. PLUS now…. its worse! I have to wear this head gear to stop me from having a nibble. I have to have cold cream rubbed into my sore bits twice a day…PLUS they tell me I have to go back to see the doggie doctor again on Friday. I wonder what part of my body he’ll probe this time!!

In a word, I feel MISERABLE…REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE…. all I want is to feel normal again…. will that EVER happen???

Poorly Boy

Internet Tails - Part 7 - 'MAKING A SPLASH'

I think I’ve mentioned before…I LOVE SWIMMING! Yep, you lead a Jake to water and in I get!

Imagine….crystal clear, cool, deep, never ending….water…. I’m totally in there!!! Just talking to you about it makes me want to get Mum & Dad in the car and on the way to a nice stream or river……..

Ok dreaming over, I wanted to tell you about my trip to the new river! I have been there before, but its now up there as one of my favourite places to visit.

Don’t get me wrong, I still am madly in love with Sheepstor, as I can run freely around the area and can jump into the water in various places. However, this new place, Shaugh Prior has SOOOO much water and loads of woodland around it, which makes it ideal to dash about amongst the trees, enabling me to have the odd wee. Plus get my fix of a good swim. In fact, its just like having my own swimming pool…complete with diving board.

No, I’m not completely mad…its true, a nice big rock is my diving board, which enables me to leap into a deep pool of crystal clear water.

As soon as I arrive there and am let off to roam free, I head straight to the rock and ……. Weeeeeeeeeeee ….in I go! Heaven!

Mum & Dad often sit on a nearby rock and just watch me diving in, swimming around and then getting out, shaking off then back for another dive in. They often ask me why I bother shaking off…to be honest….I really have no idea. Apart from not liking the feeling of being dripping wet when I’m not in the water .. I guess that must be the reason, either that or a habit inbreed in us dogs!

Lately I’ve been allowed to spend as much time as I like doing this. Until they see me shaking from the cold. I don’t feel it until I’ve got out for a while, then boy does it get chilly! Its then that they tell me to “shaky leggs” I do and we head back to the warmth of the car and homeward bound to dry off.

Summer is great fun. Not only do I get the chance to roam the moorland and woodlands near my home. I also get to make a huge splash in the local streams and rivers…yes summer is great fun…swimming….my favourite pastime!

One giant leap.... Taking a dip

Internet Tails - Part 6 - 'EASTER TIME'

Every dog loves the smell of spring. Yes, we can smell the flowers blooming, the days are longer and its not so cold when we go out. Yes us dogs love spring…summer is on its way and we get to spend loads of time out and about in the fresh air!

I’m sure that its not only us dogs that love this time of year. My Mum & Dad seem to go out more and they love watching the world go by as I leap about in the fields or the nearest stream. My morning and evening walks are better too as I can see where I’m going, I can sniff the newly budding plants and my paws don’t get cold on the pavements….Yes I LOVE SPRING!

Spring brings with it - Easter! Not really sure what its all about but I do know that I get pressies! This year was no different…

Mum & I took a trip up to see Nanny & Grumpy and the weather was unusually warm. We travelled for it seemed years! Even Mum said this trip was unusually long so she was getting rather frustrated…when we finally arrived at Nanny & Grumpy’s they were really pleased to see me. I headed straight for my toy and handed it to Grumpy. He didn’t want to know at 1st, he kept saying “no, I want to say hello to you 1st!" He gave in, in the end!!!!

I played with him for a while then met up with Aunty Pip, we watched Nanny prepare dinner and helped of course!!! Then at the end of the evening I went with Grumpy to take Aunty Pip back to Granny Bess before I curled up for bed.

The next day Mum took me to play ball in the field. It was a really nice spring day, we played for a while, til I couldn’t stop panting then headed back, where Nanny was cooking dinner….ohh it smelt lovely, roast beef! Yum!

Great Granny & Granny Bess came over, like they do on a Sunday. It confused me a little as from my reckoning it was only Friday?! Unless I’d slept too long!! Anyway, they came over for dinner and as always Aunty Pip & I had our roasts whilst everyone else tucked into theirs.

The fun came after dinner when pressies started coming around. My 1st pressie was from Granny Bess & Aunty Pip, all wrapped up nice. I tore off the paper to find a small shoe. Just so noone else could get hold of it I quickly took it away and hid it, I must try and remember where I left it next time I go there!!

Then came my pressie from Mum & Dad. As soon as I saw the box I knew what it was. I had one last year too. It was a nice big Easter Egg, which Mum said was special coz it was made for dogs….how cool is that!!! So I took it off of her and spent the next few minutes tearing the box open to find that yummy chocolate inside. Now I knew it was Easter!

Next day I found that Nanny & Grumpy had disappeared sometime during the night. Mum said they’d gone on holiday! So when we‘d got up and I‘d been out to have ball games at the Valley, Mum took me over to see Granny Bess & Pip. She had some food with them and then we popped in to see Great Granny. From there we went into the car and stopped at the same place Grumpy had taken us the night before. Great open space with a fabulous view. I found myself a stick and had a bit of fun with that! But before long we were back in the car heading for Granddad Butchers.

We arrived at Granddad Butchers and Mum unloaded our bags, then took me down to the sea front. I was a little upset as she wouldn’t let me jump in and swim…..”its frontline day” she said….Bugger I hate frontline day! That means I can’t go swimming for a few days! So we had a walk along the sea front, stopped and had a coffee in a little café, then headed upto Granddad Butchers flat. I’d not been here much before, so I did the usual..had a good sniff around then tried to find something to play with. Luckily, Heather found me a ball to play with, which I had great delight in doing when Uncle Ross, Aunty Karen, Lee and Clare arrived.

Granddad Butcher put on this weird music and Mum put on my shirt that she’d brought me back from her holiday. Everyone gathered around looking at photos, then sat down for some food - roast turkey! It smelt handsome and I must admit, I did wonder where mine was, as I was so used to having it with everyone else. I didn’t have to wait too long though, coz Mum dished mine up when everyone had finished I gobbled that down a treat!

The evening went quick. Probably because I had loads of people to play with, but as with everything it all comes to an end. Everyone started leaving and by the time Mum & I got back from our last walk, all that was left was Granddad Butcher and Heather! So off to bed it was…..

Along came another beautiful spring morning. Mum took me for a walk down the through the town. For a town it was really quiet. Nice though, but lacking grass!!!

When we got back we stayed at Granddad Butchers for a while before it was time to leave. Mum packed up our bags, said goodbye to everyone and then into the car for a trip down the harbour.

I couldn't beleive it when we got there as we saw Granddad Butcher again, he was on a boat! Dunno how he’d got there so quick!!! Probably did it while Mum was chatting to someone for ages, while I sat waiting in the car!!! She will go on you know!

I did get a little excited that Granddad was on the boat, that was until Mum said we can’t go on it, as he was off to work!!! Fishing!! I tried to tell her that I love fishing but she wasn't having any of it! Leaving me with another day not on the water!!! She said she’d compensate my lack of a swim for another run on the grass - hey I wasn’t going to complain!

I’m back home now, a shorter trip back - thank heavens! It looks like the weekend is coming to a close….Yes I kinda like Easter, the weather has been FANDOGGIETASTIC and I’ve spent it visiting loads of family plus got to see new places. So until next year……

Easter Fun
