Southgate Penalty secures point against last seasons Champions
A Jordan Southgate Penalty 2 minutes from time earned East Bergholt under 12’s a well deserved point in this 3rd V 4th clash. Ransomes played some excellent passing football but came up against a solid Bergholt defence. Bergholt took the lead through Jack Christie 5 minutes into the 2nd half but their lead was short lived with Ransomes quickly responding. Ransomes were awarded a penalty which was duly dispatched by Ransomes striker Alex Breadman prior to East Bergholt surging forward for an equaliser. Jordan Southgate slotted the penalty past Ransomes keeper after the Ransomes defenders handball. Christie Strike as Bergholt hold out for victory
East Bergholt overcame a final 10 minute surge to gain victory against local rivals Shotley Rangers. Bergholt dominated the early play but had to rely on Ben McGrath to recue Bergholt from falling behind. Jack Christie slotted home a goalmouth scramble from a George Foster corner just prior to half time to give Bergholt a half-time lead. Bergholt attempted to extend the lead in the early exchanges of the second half but were forced back by a determined Rangers side. Excellent defending by East Bergholt ensured that Bergholt finished the match with their lead.

East Bergholt Under 12's go into the weekend match at home to Shotley Rangers. Giorgio Dimuccio returns to the squad after his foot injury and will be ready to fight for his place in the starting line up. New signing Jack Christie has settled in since joining from Sutton Heath and his 2 goals against Sproughton and pushed him in line for the start against The Peninsula Side. A 7-0 win for East Bergholt against our local side from across the A12 proved to be an excellent work out for many of the Squad players. Jack Christie first half brace & a Jordan Southgate strike pushed East Bergholt to 4t position in the table. Sproughton took the lead on the Counter attack and had to rely on their keeper stopping several one on one’s prior to Jack finally pulling Bergholt level. Jack followed this up with his second shortly after but Sproughton pulled level just prior to half time. In a less frantic second half Jordan Southgate secured the victory after a tactical switch by the Bergholt Manager with excellent defending ensuring that Bergholt left the match with maximum points.

Dimuccio Out for Sproughton Game
East Bergholt will be without Giorgio Dimuccio for the league match at home to Sproughton. Giorgio has been in excellent form this season and will be missed on the left side of Midfield. James Moloney will move to left Midfield with new signing Jack Christie starting up front for his first start for East Bergholt.Under 13's select Joe & Dominic again
East Bergholt under 13's have requested the loan of Joe Arnold & Dominic Barker for their league game this Saturday. Both players played last weekend with good reports coming about their performances. Joe Arnold should keep his place in the starting line up.Manager has full squad to pick from
