here's your Update - ALRIGHT

I know i said i was going to put more stuff up but i have a life and don;t like sitting infront of a computer screen on the interent for more than 15 minutes any more (as thats not free to do!)

Unfortunately our small screen debuts as Marines in the upcoming Tom Hanks/Spielberg production hasn't gone through :-( but it's not all sad news as I have been asked asked to go in on friday to film a few scene's (well done me) so ALL of you will have to watch "Pacific" when it's out to try and find me!!

Other than that not alot else exciting has happened. We had a football game against another hostel on sunday which we lost 1-0 - i'm not happy with that and may take a more player/manager role for the rematch. Also played badminton this week which was fun and i only fell over once :-D

I'll let ya'll know what happens on friday (doesn't mean i'll post within a week tho!)

New Year Resolution

Well it's nice to see that you have kept to your New Year's Resolution - not !!!!  Looking forward to seeing you all soon in Melbourne

 Jacqui xx

Happy New Year

Okay so i have to admit we have really sucked at doing things on this site over the last few months. For that i apologise but i think the main person to blame is Mark Zuckerber! For those of you who don't happen to know this man, he invented Facebook

But as the new year has rolled on in and in true spirit i have decided to make this site the main theme behind my new year's resolution - that and ringing home at least once in a blue moon. So i'm starting today while i've got chance of free internet. i'm not promising i'll put photo's as i don't own a camrar and they take a while from Danny's but i will try let you know what we're all doing.

Now you may be wondering what's happened over the last few months - well quite alot as you would expect but i'm not going to start documenting them all as i haven't a spare week so i'll let those stories be told in person when we finally hit the shores of England again.

But so far this year Danny, Woode and I have been chilling in Melbourne while P-J slaves away at work or at Kathryn's feet in Cairns. Danny has given up drinking (which means he drinks slightly less than he was before (but acts drunk for reasons only he knows).Woode occassionally works as a dishwasher in a restaurant near by while I attend a bar where i "work" but it's not very busy so i get to read or watch TV. We've started reading again, I have personally read 3 books since christmas and have two more i've just started. And danny has gotten past the milestone of 5 pages before he falls asleep (so congradulations to him)

There's only really one more thing to talk about but i'll wait til i post again as it's not a certainty yet but i'll leave a teaser... we may have all enrolled for the Marines!!!!

Hope you all had an excellent NY and a wonderful Christmas

David

p.s. it's really hot at the moment

Update - Brisbane to Cairns

So what's been going on your asking, well if you ask Danny we are all boring and dont leave interesting life's! well ask danny what he did when we were in cairns with him, i dont remember seeing him outside our flat or off my psp while he was here! yes we do have free internet, but we only kust have it and signal is lost constantly and it takes about an hour to post one pic on its like being on dial up again, ooh the memories of waitning weeks for stuff to download haha Anyhu enough of that bitching malarky and down to business here goes -

Bisbane to Fraser Island - this was kinda in a previous blog named 'Well Rolled Socks' so i am not going to divuldge into this!

Fraser Island - in the words of an ex colleague 'www.awesome.com' there are words to describe how good fraser island was, unfortunatly i dont have a theasauras on hand so i cant tell you exactly what i mean.  The island is a giant sand dune built over time thousands of years ago to become the largest sand island in the world, it is protected under the world heritage scheme and i would consider it one of the true wonders of the world.  on the island itself i drove, david drove and james drove, along with some others in our group, we travelled around the island in a 4x4 the had two in the front and six in the back, who bounced around like being on a bouncy castle, it was ace!  Pretty much all of the roads were just sand and the main road on the island which you could go 80kmh(50mph) was in fact the beach! Driving inland was tricky but all of the lakes were situated there so it had to be done, plus it was the only way between the main road and the ferry terminal. There were 3 lakes that we went to - Lake McKenzie as beautiful and much better than danny tells of it, the snd here was 80% silica so almost perfect fine white sand, the bit you had access to wasn't too large for the amount of tourists there and the water, well tht was FREEZING, it was beyond freezing! Lake Boomanjin was described as 'the red lake' as the teatree plants around the lake had led the lake to have a tint of red which was quite cool, i mean my thorts when i was told this was 'wow a red lake' but getting there you can just see the tint otherwise its just a normal lake, though not very deep as one of our group decided to go fo a swim and walk about 100m and the water was only up to his ankles still, it was a funny 'had to be there' moment. The last lake was Lke Wabby which was my personal favourite and possibly the most diverse and beautiful places i have been. Lake Wabby is a small lake that has a huge sand dune behind it, and they are surrounded by forest, it is quite breathtaking, the lake it self is shrinking half foot each year as the sand dune is slowly blown over it. One of the reasons it is my favourite place is the dunes, i had so much fun running up them, then rolling back down, i could have stayed there all day if we didnt have to leave!  Some other places were Indian Head which is a big out crop of rock that looks over the Pacific Ocean and where Whales passed us migrating, me being short sighted didnt see them but everyone said they were there so who's to argue and last off were the Champagne Pools (i was going to say last but not least but they really were Least) which were the biggest disappoinment there to be frank, whom im not but its a good saying.

Gayndah Fruit Packing - to apply for our second year visas we headed to a Bundaburg but there were no jobs around there apparently so we up sticks and moved to Gayndah (a small town in the middle of no where that most australians have never heard of) where we got jobs a a packing shed, packing (what i thort were oranges for two weeks) maderines into boxes and putting them on pallets. Some of the easiest work we could have got to extend our visa!  While we were in Gayndah our Queer van broke down and we were with a broken van for nine days which i am trying to get some money back for still but they wont give us any though they will waive our Windscreen Replacement Charge (a big bird flew into our windscreen on the way from Rockhampton to Whit Sundays, we drove over 500kms with it smashed on the driver's side until we got it fixed going passed at least 7 cop cars and not once stopped!) we left Gayndah after two weeks and made our way to Airlie Beach for the Whit Sundays with Danny, stopping just outside Rockhampton to stay the night at a friend of mine from Brisbane.

Whit Sundays - Danny doesnt really cover the Whit Sundays in any detail so i will add to his mentioning of it in the Bolg 'The Rest'.  We headed out on a 3 day and 3 night trip of the Whit Sundays, the extra day compared to other trips took us out to the Great Barrier Reef, on a boat called 'Spank Me' which used to be a professional racing boat winning several races including the most prestigious boat race in Australia - the Bluewater Classic (Sydney - Hobart Yacht Race) The boat its self was a real ship with only one hull, unlike most of the other tours on Katamarang style yachts, it tilted and turned with the waves and lead to many people being sea sick (including yours truly - which kinda ruined my life long dream of being a Pirate) On the tour we were at privelage to see some wonderful Islands and beautiful reefs in which thousands of different fish and sea dwelling creatures called home as well as the 'best beach in the world' according to aussies Whit Haven Beach - which had 95% silica sand (to put it simply out of a range of 1-100 Whit Haven would rank 95/100 where as Skegvegas would be at -10/100!!)  We also experienced snorkelling in a cay on an island as well as Scuba Diving which was awesome though none of us were willing to do it on the reef for several reasons mainly money but i couldnt breathe to well under water from my illness in Brisbane so i didnt want to risk myself, but we did go snorkelling on the reef which was incredible and we have some good pics that i will post soon i promise!  Apart from that alot of the time was spent on the boat travelling from island to island and to the reef, the weather was cruddy at best with us all wearing raincoats on deck from the rain, which didnt help the boat from rocking too much but we did get an hour of sun when we were at the reef so that helped us see more! At night times me and Danny stayed up drinking each night while the other two went to bed and at one point i was sitting in the outside fridge after being pushed in by my so called friends!

Airlie Beach to Cairns to Cape Tribe to Cairns - We left Airlie and travelled to Townsville to get our Windscreen repaired which only took an hour but when we got there it was dark so we had to wait for the next day, from there we headed to Mission Beach where Kathryn was so i could be reunited with her after a month apart it was such a magic moment when we saw each other it kinda went like this - david and i went to her hostel and got out the van and started to walk towards the hostel, in the disatnce came a short person that with my eye sight took me a while to register as being Kathryn, as i just realised who it was David barged me out of the way and ran and hugged her first, not quite as we had planned it!! We left the next day to Cairns with a new passenger on board, Nicole (Kathryn's Friend).  We made it to Cairns that day and went out into ton to the Woolshed where Danny wasnt allowed in so i left Kathryn there with her friends and met up with Danny, David and James in P.J O'Briens where we met some friends from Brisbane.  The next day was a trip up to Cape Tribulation where we stopped at Mossman Gorge for a swim and to jump off some rocks, you know the usual really, next up was Cape Trib that was only accessible acroos a very short rope pulled ferry, we made our way up to PK's where Danny used to work when he was up there, it was remarkable and i could see why he stayed for such a long time, and im sure if he was getting paid he would have stayed longer, and his Bridge well i was impressed with his handi-man-ship! We atayed the night in at PK's well we staye in their carpark neway! The next dayDanny took us upto Emagon Creek where we we able to jump into the small creek from about 10ft high! This was soo much fun!  After that we headed back to Cairns with Danny in tow and the rest is well......

In the next Blog as i have got too eat dinner and get ready for work, Until next time Nanoo Nanoo this is Mork Signing off!

Fun and games on the East Coast

Heylo everybody, looks like I'm the only bloger nowdays oh well I'll have to start putting more effort into doing things so it at least looks like we're having a good time here in the land of Oz. Firstly I'd like to say just how gutted I am that I wasn't in a bar surounded by hundreds of Ozies when we managed to regain bragging rights last Saturday when we rolled them over in the rugby :)  But the reason why I wasn't in a bar was because 1- I didn't think we could win 2- I was making sure that I ran out of money by spending 3 days on Fraser Island. Fraser was a really good experiance for me I went in a small group of just me and 3 of my friends which was awesome because I got to do a majority of the driving which I really enjoyed which is strange considering how much I detest driving on roads. It was a good thing that I was there because the other drivers were nowhere near as agressive behind the wheel and we'd of spent most of our time stuck in the sand if I wasn't on hand to sort everything out.

Somehow when we're away from civilisation (places where we have to fill in forms to do anything) I become a bit of a leader and everyone has lots of fun (because I tell them to). Thats another strange thing because on the mainland I generally just go with the flow and barely ever make a decision there was evidence of this when I couldn't escape Cairns and stayed there for 5 months! I managed to get enough driving done that we could see all of the Islands major tourist sites even though we did have the low fuel sign on for the last 40k's maybe I'd pushed it too hard in the end though it was worth the risk but Lake Makenzie (one of the top 10 beaches in the world) was not what I was hoping for after just visiting Lake Birrabeen which I though was an exact copy of Makenzie but was alot more peaceful and had some sand dunes to have some fun on.

Other things I've spent money on- Whale watching I'll add photos soon (they're not on my camera), Whale watching was an experiance that I now know needed to be done. These animals are bloody massive much bigger than our boat an on the day that we went they were in the mood for showing off, one family spent about an hour launching themselves out of the sea every 5 seconds which actually never managed to get boring. I've not spent any money on alcohol because its so easy in brisbane to get drunk for free if you want to, for starters the DUB give me money and free beer nearly every night that i'm interested just take part in any competition like hoop-la and limbo, get some cash in hand and get 4-8 pots of beer when they give it away at 9pm "It's 9pm time for free beer and cocktails, grab a pot glass and we'll fill it for you. No pints dont be greedy" thats what the D-j is accustomed to saying I'm not greedy I wont use a pint glass but I end up with 2-4 free pints at this point of the night. I have spent a hell of alot on my medical just like everyone else..... I'm normal! I was passed fully fit today which is more than I can say about David and Woode. But somehow I've put on 8kg's since I was last weighed 3 weeks ago when we all went bungy jumping, yes thats right Jacqui your boys jumped off a building with just some bungy cords jangling them around. I'm sure I've done more.... I'll tell you when I think of them. I'm adding way too many pics, they'll take along time to look through, I also added a heap of new photos last weeks in Cairns-to-Ayr file.

One more thing..... The other guys have free internet, are their lives boring or so exciting that they cant get on the internet for 10 mins to post a blog? Danny B

Sort It Out Guys!

Firstly will you guys get the Whitsunday photo's sorted out, get them on this website and on my facebook :-) Katie is still waiting for the Whitsunday pics.

I only have few mins so I'll just say that I'm taking some risks (again) I'm going to Brisbane tomorrow but there's no money in my bank account I may have enough for the bus, my Fraser Island trip and my Visa medical but then I'll be skint again, Oh I just remembered David owes me 400 dollars so I'll survive :-)

I started drinking again on Saturday, I was very drunk and fell asleep at about 6pm whilst hugging a bottle of rum. I woke up about half an hour later and returned to the drinking I knew I'd have a terrible hangover because I started on Goon so I decided to drink more of many different kinds of drinks bourboun, rum, vodka, beer and a wee bit more goon. It was a great return to form on my drinking days and I had a good night eventually getting back to bed at 5am, Not bad for the first session in over a month(ish).

Get the pics sorted guys. Danny B

The rest

Hey Hey, I’ll clear up a thing or two from yesterday, firstly I’d like to say that the guys weren’t too different from how I remember them, David looks like P-j and Woody doesn’t drink as much or take as many risks those are the only differences.

Our Whitsunday adventure was a good laff even though we did have the worst luck with weather. We managed to have a good time by learning a few new drinking games by night and enjoying the water and reef by day.

In one (the first) of the new drinking games I managed to lose 6 out of 6 times and when I’d finally won in the 7th round I decided in my drunken state that a lap of honour was in order of course it all went wrong and I very nearly became the first person to be man-over-board on the Spank me boat. In another one of the drunken games Woody said Fu*k a duck which has become one of the great quotes of our journey thus far…. You just had to be there.

After the Whitsundays we travelled North to Townsville to get the windscreen fixed in the van which was shattered by a huge bird about 5 days before hand, there is nothing good in Townsville, it’s a bit of a hole and we were glad to be out of there asap but I did pass the time in a pointless, stupid and dangerous manner as per usual. I decided to eat a Double Pounder in MacDonald’s basicly a heart attack in a bun I ordered a regular quarter pounder and an extra 7 meat patties (It contains 450% of your recommended daily intake of fat). It wasn’t the best after a while it tasted a lot like plastic and I couldn’t of finished it if I’d made it into a meal like the staff member offered.

Onwards!!! Nooooo back in Cairns again. (Getting bored of writing again) Visited Cape Trib again, went back to Cairns again, spent 2 weeks doing nothing and saving money, Woody didn’t jump off of the roof 53 meters up very disappointing.

Now I’m on my own again in a very small town called Ayr I’m picking Zucchinis which if you don’t know is the German and Australian name for Courgettes. To put it simply Ayr and Zucchini picking is the closest thing to hell on earth, my back is killing me, I have sunburn, I look like I’m into self harming because my wrists have been slashed by the thorns on these plants. Ayr is a very weird town, I’ve asked a few people what I can do for fun in the afternoon/evening and the best answer I’ve received is to go to Coles (the supermarket). They’ve not even discovered pavements, there were no people on the streets at any time on Sunday when I arrived, it’s a ghost town I thought but since then I’ve discovered people do live here, Abos have houses here :S every man and his dog has a dog around here and often you see dogs taking other dogs for walks :S they don’t use leads because they speak the same language (dog). And weirdest of all is the Pompei snow as I’ve decided it should be called. There's always soot falling from the sky randomly probably the reason why my ahstma is crap all of the time now.

Random thoughts of the day: Why are american sitcoms so crap (mostly). Why, why oh why did they never finish off red dwarf that was a class show. And finally I saw a sign saying 'Tired Drivers Die!' and I thought thats a bit harsh. The next sign said 'Free Tea and Cake For Drivers!' well well, I sence a trap because I recon some tired drivers may fall for that then of course they'd be taken out BANG! dead tired driver. Bye bye Danny B

Half A Story? Well.... Half of Something

Hey hey everybody, I'm bored so I thought I'd say hi my last attempt at saving myself from boredom was to buy 4 bananas and see how long it takes me to have an allergic reaction this was a silly idea because bananas are rather expensive in Australia. Anyway recently I decided to have a holiday and just do bugger all untill I could play in the Queensland rugby final, durin this time I managed to spend nearly all of the money I'd saved oh well durin the semi-final time of the rugby thingy I set off on a wonderfull journey of bliss and happy, happy times on a bus for 13 hours! oh I thought the good times would never end awww I miss that bus. I did eventually get to Arlie beach where I'd arranged to meet up with some good friends so it was worth getting off the bus. After a few days frolicing and having a good time with my freinds I met up with David, Woody and P-j oh how dissapointing. They'd all become so dull and their personallitys had become something similar to that of a lime jelly. As we were going sailing and diving I decided to get a doctors note saying that I was healthy enough to dive even though I have ahstma, so I lied a few times to a doctor and still was passed as unfit. So I had to resort to plan B if I wanted to go scuba diving.... lie to the people whome I was trusting to keep me alive.

We all got on the same boat luckily as I got the last place avalible our boat was called "Spank me" there are too many jokes available there so I'll let you think of them yourself. Only got 12 mins left so so I'll make the rest really short and shity then improve it later (maybe even get rid of speeling mistakes... maybe) Our whitsunday adventure was windy, rainy, and very drunken... for me at least. The scenery under the water was stunning I'd never seen anything quite as beautiful anywhere else the other guys have the photos that do it no justice hopefully they'll do a better blog and post the pics. I'll quicly sum up what else happened P-j got seasick which ruined his his life long dream of becoming a pirate G'yah! and Woody said "Fu#k a duck". Thats all for now.

Bye Bye. Danny B

Well Rolled Socks

We're not dead! just in parts of the country that dont have signal!  we three brave soles have finally left brisbane, well we tried but ended back there straight away!

basically we acquired a wicked camper van, this time opting to rent it instead of buying another heap of crud! unfortunatley we didnt get to choose our van and ended up with a van named 'QANTAS'!  so we go to inspect the van and down one side is written 'qantas' which is ok, then we get round to the other side and in big black letters is written 'QUEERS' i mean wot the f*ck is that all about! i asked the aussie guy that worked there 'wots the queers all about' and his lame reply was 'you know, qantas, get it!'!! no i dont friggin get it, well woode is now the sole driver as it says it on the drivers side haha any way the van is kool apart from that wierd graffitti!

we tryed to leave brisvegas on thurs 26th july, but our plans changed wen LJ 'theres hell to pay' Loftus refused to let us go, so we kidknapped her and took her too nimbin! where i graduated from university and i have the t-shirt to prove it!! after that one night we dropped the now chronically depressed LJ back in brisbane (in which i found time to visit a florist and purchase a single long stemmed rose that i placed on kathryn's pillow for her when she arrived back from work) - 90552568

Next stop was Hervey Bay! we arrived there at 2030, just intime to check in at the hostel which was owned by the Palace Backpackers in Brisbane - so they knew i was a big deal! We all recieved two nights free accomodation and a free Fraser Island trip for the weekend! how awesome is that! so we went up to our room which had a balcony watched a film then went to sleep ready to get up at 6AM!

For the rest of the Fraser Island trip read another blog i will do later as im bored!

Since then we drove up to Bundaburg, where they make the internationally reknowned rum - Bundaberg Rum, not heard of it, neither had i til australia and they love it! taste like shit mind but then aussie like alot

What do you say to a man with 2 black eyes?

First of all I'd just like to express some concernes over the where abouts of a couple of Davids and a P-j. They've all had their phones off for the last 4 days or so. If you've not heard from them and aren't worried I suggest you watch 'Gone'  'Wolf Creek' 'Texas chainsaw massacre' or 'Hostel' for examples of what happens to unsuspecting tavellers.... I'm sure they're ok tho. You'd have to be a pretty weird psycho to want to mess with Woode.

Ok on to my life, since I got fired from the Woolshed I've accidently managed to get drunk every night. It was never my intention to become a bit of a pisshead but things dont always go according to plan do they? Looks like I'm going to leave Cairns for a few weeks (about bloody time) but I'm not going far I've worked hard to not be a fat bastard and get in shape so that the Wanderers could make it to the grand finals in this years rugby (first time in 18 years) so I'll just be waiting about for a bit near by doing some work helping towards my visa extention.

I knocked a guy out! 21 years old and thats the first time I've done it... It was completly accidental we hit each other at top speed playing rugby I saved a try, knocked the guy out and split his head open he had to have a few stitches but then again I should of had sticthes aswell but I'd rather get back on the field as quick as possible and then get out on the piss as soon as the match finished.

Heaps of new photos I'll add them to somewhere and then sort them out some other time so lazy. Danny B
