New Feature: Upload your documents to your etribes Lifesite

Now you can add your document files to your etribes Lifesite!

If you have documents that are too large to email you can simply upload them, password protect them and share them with your contacts.

You can make them private so that only you can access them, from any PC with internet access in the world!

Or, you could make them public so that any visitors to your site are able to easily view them.

Most document types are supported and easy to upload simply by going to the new Documents menu on your Startpage..

 

Just click Add document, then select the documents you want to add, choose your privacy and upload!

All your public documents will appear in your Documents tab on your Lifesite and you can easily share them with others using the great etribes Share option.

 

New Feature: Easily give your photos titles

Did you know that you can now quickly and easily edit your photos titles? No more meaningless filenames!

Just go to the album containing your photos from the Photos menu on your Startpage.

Move your mouse pointer over the title of the photos you wish to change until the pen icon displays:

 

Click on the title and an edit box will appear where you can type a new title:

 

Then just click Save and your photo's title will be updated!

 

New Feature: Choose your Home page

You can now easily select the page visitors arrive at when they go to your site's address.

Just go to your site settings and select Layout. Here you can choose whether your Home, Blog or Profile tab are your main page visitors will arrive at.

 

 

New feature: Slideshow for photo albums

You can now view your photos on etribes in a stylish new slideshow. Simply click the "Slideshow" icon at the top of any photo album to start the slideshow. Your friends & family can do the same - then sit back and enjoy the show!

Introducing the new StartPage

We've just completed a major overhaul of the Startpage to make it easier to use and more feature-rich. The new StartPage is a move away from a simple admin page, towards becoming "your place online"; a place where you can store and access your photos, videos, documents, links and contacts, privately and securely online and, if you choose, publish them to your LifeSite.

Most of the key features of your etribes account, such making a post, uploading photos and adding contacts, can now be accessed in a single click from your Startpage. The core functionality is grouped under three simple headings - Favourites (your links) Content (your stuff) and Manage (your account etc.) - though you can still manage your content via the blue navigation bar (as before). We hope you enjoy the new look and feel!

New themes: Make your personal website stand out!

We've just added a brand new range of professional-looking themes to etribes - so you can pick the look and feel that suits your personal website. In addition to the relaxing autumn theme, there's a fiery option (flames) and a selection of flowery wedding-type themes - for the many happy couples that use etribes.

New feature: Upload & backup your videos

You can now upload videos to your etribes LifeSite straight from your PC! The feature works in exactly the same way as the photo upload service - only it takes a little bit longer, depending on your connection. For large videos, we recommend you make a cup of tea, or read through our Tips section ;)

Enhancements: Bigger and Better Profile

On Monday we separated out the Blog from the Profile on etribes LifeSites. This means you now have a full page to talk about yourself, while maintaining a cut-down version on your Blog. Yes - we're excited too (can you tell?).

We'll soon be adding a range of Homepage options, so that members can use their LifeSite as just a Profile, as a Blog or as an aggregation of all their content - Profile, Blog, Photos Videos etc. Watch this space!

Enhancements: Tips and mobile video clips

Yesterday we added links to the Tips section on the StartPage - so you can now actually do things, like make a post or upload photos, right after having found out how to. Small change, but it all counts!

In response to some pretty swift feedback we've also tweaked our mobile video clip feature to work better on all mobile phones. We had a few issues with some Motorola and Nokia models but these should be working fine now. Let us know if you think otherwise.

New feature: Text (MMS) videos clips to your website

Fancy sharing a mobile video clip with friends and family? You can now post video clips to your Videos album by simply texting (MMS) them to 07786 200071.  Make sure you've added your mobile number to your account.

As always - we know security is important - you can password-protect your clips and email the password to friends and family.
