mashup* next event 19th June: on Location

mashup* Event on the 19th June will be themed "on Location"; ie: the value of "where one is". We are thrilled that Teleatlas are sponsoring this event.

Within this theme of location we will be exploring where and what the value of location is.

We will cover the value of

maps;
direction;
find;
discovery;
direction;
detection;
presence, and;
mashup services for both web and mobile.

We will be given great insights from our expert speakers and panel including Jack Reinelt MD EMEA and COO of Teleatlas

Jack will be joined by a great panel including Ed Parsons from Google, Ed Freyfogle from Nestoria and Philip Sheldrake of OnOneMap

The aim of widr is to map every computer in the world and in doing so create a location enabled internet. We have some software and a Javascript API which developers can use to make their website location aware. For those of you who attended mashup* April on Tuesday at BT Centre - this heading makes sense. For those of you who didn't - or were asleep :) it won't.

If you did attend and haven't already please give us your feedback here.

Thank for you making mashup* a great evening again and particular thanks to the speakers and panel members. As expected the conversation was quite diverse but I certainly learnt a few things and met some very interesting people during the networking over drinks and food.

Thanks again for BT for supporting mashup* and we look forward to seeing you at the next event - details will be available soon.

Identity 2.0: my digital identity is an asset, but who owns it?

The evening session will address the following issues

What is Digital Identity?
Why is it so important?
Trust. Who should I trust and why should I be trusted?
Authentication. How far is reasonable?
Interoperability. Does this OpenID provider work with that consumer?
Transactions. Don't confuse Paypal's needs with Digg's wants?
Complexity. OpenID is relatively easy, Cardspace is somewhat harder!
Real world use cases. How do I keep my profile up to date everywhere?

The term Mashup is an emerging term to describe a new breed of software and service application. The Wikipedia entry defines a 'mashup' as: a website or web application that seamlessly combines content from more than one source into an integrated experience.
